What are the age requirements for applicants?

• Applicants for Léman Explorers must be 12-24 months old on or before September 1 of the year for which they are applying.
• Applicants for PreK2 must be two years old on or before September 1 of the year for which they are applying
• Applicants for 名3 must be three years old on or before September 1 of the year for which they are applying
• Applicants for 名4 must be four years old on or before September 1 of the year for which they are applying
• Applicants for Kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1 of the year for which they are applying
• Applicants for Grade 1 and above are considered based on both age and prior school experience.

What are the admission requirements for 情夫曼哈顿?

The application process is comprised of three key elements: required forms; campus visits and interviews; and admission testing (Grades 2 through 12). Please select the grade your child is applying for specific information on admission requirements.

How are the admissions pieces evaluated?

T在这里 are multiple inputs into a student's candidacy for admission and we consider each child holistically. 低年级, 学生来访, report from the current school, parent statement and interview, and standardized testing (in Grades 2 through 5) aid us in reaching an admission decision. For Middle and High School, all six pieces of the application are important and weighed equally (parent statement, 学生声明, 学校报告, 建议, standardized testing, 和学生参观).

What is a parent meeting?

A parent meeting is a time for parents to meet with a member of 不朽情缘的招生团队. This meeting allows us to get to know you, and for you to get to know our school. We also look forward to answering any questions that you may have. This meeting will be scheduled after you submit your admission application and will last approximately 45 minutes.

Which applicants are given preference in the admissions process?

When can I submit an application for admission?

情夫曼哈顿 begins accepting applications for the following school year at the end of August, 劳动节前. Completed admissions applications will be reviewed by the 招生 Committee and notifications will be made on a continuous, space-available basis. Should 情夫曼哈顿 be your school of choice, we encourage you to participate in our Early Notification program.

What takes place during my child's visit?

名3, 名4 and Kindergarten applicants participate in an observed playgroup with similar-aged children. Students applying to Grade 1 through 5 participate in a half-day classroom visit at Léman. Middle and High School students participate in a one-on-one interview with an 招生 representative.

When will I be notified about admission decisions?

The 招生 Committee of 情夫曼哈顿 issues admissions decisions on a continuous basis in accordance with our admissions preference policy. Families who apply through our regular notification program can typically anticipate a decision from the school within one week of their application's completion date, beginning in early January. Sibling and Early Notification applicants have earlier notification dates, which can be reviewed 在这里.

Léman will not receive my standardized test scores until after November 24th. Am I still eligible for Early Notification?

是的, December 7 is the earliest date we will notify Early Notification families of their admissions decisions. This date will primarily be for grades that do not require standardized tests (early childhood through 1st grade). For other families who have elected Early Notification, we will make admissions decisions as soon as the file is complete rather than waiting for the February timeframe.

If I wait for the regular admissions decision timeframe, how will this impact my chances for admission?

We expect to have fewer spots available to award given the high interest in the school this year. Early Notification is the best way for qualified families to secure placement at Léman.

What are the additional fees not included in tuition?

学费 covers all day-to-day student expenses including a nutritious lunch and snack program, 教育用品, 书, 运动的费用, and yellow bus service to and from school for students who qualify. It does not include uniforms, private transportation, overnight trips or after school programming.

How do students get to Léman?

Students walk, ride scooters, take the subway or ferry, or travel by car to school. Situated in Lower Manhattan in a transportation hub, Léman is easily accessible from all neighborhoods in New York City. The 4/5 and 2/3 express subway lines are at our doorstep. With 50% of Léman students living downtown, we are a neighborhood school within walking distance for many families. Our proximity to the West Side Highway and the FDR make car travel from uptown easy. Ferry service a short walk from Léman transports students from DUMBO and Williamsburg.

Does 情夫曼哈顿 offer 金融援助?

情夫曼哈顿 encourages families with demonstrated need to apply for financial assistance. 情夫曼哈顿's application for financial aid is provided by School and Student Services (SSS) by the National 协会 私立学校. Based on the information you provide, SSS gives us an estimated amount your family can contribute to educational expenses, which helps us make fair and objective financial aid decisions.

Should I apply for financial aid?

The amount of tuition that a family should be expected to pay is based on the family's financial need. Financial need is defined as the difference between the family's resources and its total educational expenses. The major factors affecting financial need include the family's net income and assets, the number of dependents and the number of children attending school and colleges charging tuition. Allowances are made for certain taxes, medical costs, and unusual expenses.

Can only families of modest income qualify for financial aid?

No, net income is just one of the factors used when determining whether or not a family qualifies for financial aid. Assets, debts, and the number of dependents also influence the financial aid process. 情夫曼哈顿's financial aid program serves families with a broad range of income levels.

Will a request for financial aid influence an admission decision?

No. A request for financial aid will not influence our decision to offer admission. Admission is need-blind and based solely on the academic merit and personal qualities of each applicant. In accordance with the National 协会 私立学校 Principles of Good Practice, 情夫曼哈顿 utilizes a need-blind admission process that keeps admission and financial as separate processes.

Is financial aid automatically renewed each year?

No. Families are required to reapply for financial aid each year.

Does a change in a family's financial circumstances result in a change in the financial aid decision?

Significant changes may influence the amount of aid that is awarded the following year. Depending on the change, this could result in an increase or decrease in the level of aid awarded. Also, changes in the financial aid budget and allocation may affect the amount of aid awarded.
